Bike Accident At Under G Claims Student's Life

In the early hours of yesterday, 31st July, 2024, a bike accident involving three individuals, a female student from Nurudeen Secondary School and two male students of Ládòkè Akintola University of Technology, occurred in front of the Nurudeen Secondary School gate, Under G, at 10 am.
The secondary school had just concluded it session examinations, and students were out in the school field, playing. The female secondary school student, who is yet to be identified, had crossed the street to buy some goods from a nearby store. As she attempted to return to the school, the accident struck.
In an interview with the witnesses, it was made known that the bike rider, who is a student of LAUTECH, involved in the accident, was moving at high speed from the Stadium area with a passenger, who is also a LAUTECH student, and failed to notice the secondary school girl crossing the road.
Both the secondary school student and bike rider lost consciousness immediately as reported by the witness who witnessed the scenario. The severity of the incident was evident, and people around helped thel casualties, with transportation to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
Two members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, LAUTECH Detachment, were amongst the witnesses at the scene and they transported the wounded passenger, to a nearby facility for emergency first aid before transportation to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital for expert care.
According to a source who wants to remain anonymous, the bike rider was referred from LAUTECH Teaching Hospital (LTH) to Unilorin Teaching (UITH), however before arrival at UITH, he already gave up the ghost and was brought back to LTH. The Secondary school student was referred to BOWEN University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) for treatment; she is alive. As reported by our source, LTH was unable to take in new admissions, hence the referral was essential for expert care.
