Freshers Diary: Don't Keep Inconsiderate Friends, Here's Why
As a freshman, I made a friend through my elder sister but little did I know that this guy eats like there is no tomorrow. On this fateful day, I was very broke that I had to manage my fund to prepare vegetable soup and rice sauce that I would eat for a few days before I get money again.
While living calmly and managing myself, this friend came to visit and as it is appropriate to serve him a meal, this happened. He complimented my cooking first and said he'd love to have a taste. I gave him consent, he then entered the kitchen and ate two eggs from the pot. Worse still, he did not mention it to me.
At night, I wanted to eat, so I opened my pot and realized two eggs were missing. I could not cry because I had already thought my egg would still be there.
I could not call him nor say anything about it to him, but in my mind, I was so unhappy. Imagine, and the guy has no remorse. If he even thought of me, it's a different thing. He did not say anything about it. I could only look on helplessly as I wished to cry but manning up was very annoying.l
What I learnt is that, when you are managing things, learn to draw the line at some point and also learn how to say no to people's requests. If you're too open handed, people will take it for granted and mismanage your resources and even you. However, don't be selfish.
