LAUTECH Inducts 626 Engineering Graduates at 19th Induction Ceremony
On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the Great Hall of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) witnessed the induction of 626 students from the Faculty of Engineering.
This milestone event marked the 19th Induction Ceremony of the Faculty Of Engineering And Technology (FET), held in conjunction with The Society Of Engineers.
The ceremony commenced at 11:14 am with the National Anthem, Oyo State Anthem, and LAUTECH Anthem, followed by the recognition of dignitaries. The Dean of FET, Prof. Oladipupo S. Oladejo, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of excellence, ethics, and innovations in the engineering profession.
The keynote speaker, Engr. Àjàyí Johnson, highlighted the need for knowledge gain and evolution in the engineering profession. He encouraged the inductees to pick any Nigerian problem and dream big enough to solve it.
The ceremony included the presentation of awards to the best graduating students from each department:
Akano Michael Adewole from department of Agriculture Engineering, Abdulrasheed Waliu Alao from the department of Chemical Engineering, Oladipupo Johnson Omoniyi from the department of Chemical Engineering, Oyelade Oluwaseun Oluwafikunmi from the department of Computer Engineering, Adeniyi Deborah Ifeoluwa from the department of Food Engineering, Eniade Miracle Stephen from the department of Mechanical Engineering, Komolafe Teslim Gbolahan from the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who also doubles as the overall Best Graduating Student
The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) also acknowledged and appreciated the best female graduating students from each department.
One of the inductees Gbadegesin David Adeyanju from the Department of Computer Engineering shares his joy of knowing that the journey of five years has finally come to an end.
The induction ceremony was officially closed at 1:30 pm with the regression of dignitaries, inductees, friends, families, and well-wishers, all under the anthems of LAUTECH, Oyo State, and the National Anthem.
