My Industrial Training 2024: Adekeye faith
Brief Introduction.
My name is Adekeye faith olawadamilare, popularly known as Rep faith or faithmedia, a 400 level Agricultural Economics student.
Where did you do your IT? How did you get there, and what work do you do? Suggest other places where people in your department can train.
I did my Industrial training at the Teaching and farm research farm, Faculty of Agriculture(LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho, Oyo state. I majored in the poultry unit. At the poultry unit, we monitor poultry birds, feed poultry birds with feeds and water, give them vaccination, ensure the environment is cleared to keep them safe and free from diseases. We also wash the drinking and feeding trough, and separate the sick birds from the healthy ones. People can also do their IT at Globus in Ibadan, they pay.
What was the first shock you experienced?
Realizing the birds are matured when they are just a month old, and that they die easily if there is no food for them.
What are the interesting things about the place?
The most interesting part is the fun, and the way we all relate together.
What are the challenges you face since you started your IT?
The major challenge I faced during my IT was the rate at which birds die and also doing another person's shift if the person to take over didn't show up on time. Birds' death is a big challenge because it makes all our efforts wasted in terms of feeds, security, and others.
What are the news things that you have learned other than things related to academics?
I learnt a whole lot, learnt about relationships, family, life management and finance. Specifically, I have learnt that life is a game, and it is a market, which is about you alone and it is a challenge.
From your brief experience, which is easier? Work or School?
I can't wait to finish school, work is much easier than school. Work is easier than school because it saves time and gives an opportunity to earn money unlike school, which requires a long time.
Has your IT program contributed to your academic and personal life?
Yes it did, My internship experience made me learn more about life and academics and it has improved my personal life generally.
Gist us(tell us random things about your IT placement) something beyond the usual you've realized or learnt.
Well, I got closer to people I have been looking at from afar. I also made new friends and learnt more.
