Introduction
I am Oluwawande Demilade Favour, a 400L student of the department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. I’m undergoing my training at the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
How did you get there, and what work do you do? Was it easy getting placement there? Suggest other places where people in your department can train.
I got there with the help of my dad because he's an electrical engineer. Transmission Company of Nigeria is a power station so we just go through the departments in the stations during our stay there.
Getting a placement here is easy, they can accept anyone.
Electrical Engineering students can train in companies inclined with our course —anywhere that has to do with power, telecommunications, control or micro electronics, anywhere they want.😊
What was the first shocking experience you had at your place of work?
For one, the place is way bigger than I expected. Then I got to know that it’s the biggest station in Nigeria, they even supply electricity to The Republic of Benin. So yes, that's the shock! 😁

What challenges do you face every day since you started your IT?
It's not really a challenge, just that they don't pay the IT students so we have to sort our transport fare ourselves.
What have you learned other than things related to academics?
I've learnt a lot! We covered a couple of topics in class that we didn't get to see how the instruments work. I have seen many of them here including reactor, transformer, relays, circuit breaker and so on, and I can actually identify them now😊😊
From your brief experience, which is easier? Work or School?
I'll say work, no reasons attached✌🏽
Has your IT program contributed to your academic and personal life?
IT has contributed to my academics. Like I said earlier, I can now identify things I was taught about in class but not shown. I get to see everything where I'm working.
It has also helped me personally by giving me experience and insight about the everyday work life —waking up early, signing in and out.
Oya gist us🤗🤗(tell us random things)
Thanks for having me. Yh so that's all basically😊✌🏽
